Sunset Rotary is a young, fun, dynamic service club in Tallahassee, Florida consisting of a cross-section of Tallahassee’s business and professional men and women.

We are passionate about local and international community service, fellowship, and networking. If you are interested in learning what Rotary International is and what we are all about, please contact our Membership for more information at [email protected]

Who We Are

What would it take to change the world? Rotary's 1.2 million members believe it starts with a commitment to Service Above Self. In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide, you'll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio.

Our club was founded in 2003 with the support and guidance of the Tallahassee Sunrise Rotary Club. We are passionate about Service and We strive to uphold the Objects of Rotary and the Rotary 4-Way Test — and most of all we like to have fun.

We meet at Hotel Duval the first and third Tuesdays at 6:30 PM. Explore this site to learn about the benefits of Rotary and how you can join our local Rotary club.

What We Do

What don't we do really? Well, for one, we don't write a lot of copy, amirite?

But that doesn't mean we don't do good things. Quite the contrary in fact. When we actually build out our project pages, you'll see that Sunset Rotarians are zipping around all over the world to do good things in each of the avenues of service.

Tonya Chavis

Tonya Chavis, President, is a Senior Attorney/Arbitrator with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and arbitrates community association disputes, elections and recalls. Tonya is a Past President of the Florida Government Bar Association and develops continuing legal education seminars for the association. Tonya currently serves on the following boards:  Legal Services of North Florida, the North Florida Center for Equal Justice, Rotary Youth Camp, The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend and Hillel at Florida State University.

As a member of Tallahassee Sunset Rotary since 2007, Tonya has served 3 terms as Secretary and 1 as International Service Chair.  In her spare time, Tonya gardens (poorly) and is owned by her 7-year-old Labradoodle (who flunked out of service dog training school) and a 14-year-old Shitzhu (half-blind, half-deaf, totally diva) who rules the house.
